See your entire disk.
All at once.

FreeUpDisk is a visual disk space analyzer. It scans your drive and shows you a map where every file is a rectangle, the bigger the rectangle, the more space it uses. You see the full picture in seconds, not hours.

What is a disk space visualizer?

A disk space visualizer is a tool that reads your entire file system and converts it into a visual map, usually a treemap. Each file and folder becomes a rectangle. Larger rectangles represent files or folders that take more space.

The benefit over browsing folders manually: you see everything at once. A 15 GB video file buried inside five nested folders shows up as an enormous rectangle on the treemap, while a tiny text file is practically invisible. Your eye immediately goes to the things that matter.

Without a visualizer, most people dig through folders one by one, a process that can take hours and still miss the actual space hogs. With a treemap, it takes seconds.

Everything you need, nothing you don't

Built to be fast, visual, and safe, on both Windows and Mac.

Treemap visualization

Your entire drive shown as a grid of rectangles. Bigger rectangle = more space. You see the full picture in one view, no drilling through folders to understand what's taking up space.

Scans in seconds

Our scanning engine reads drive metadata directly. Most drives, even 1 TB+, finish scanning in under 30 seconds. No waiting for a progress bar that takes 20 minutes.

Click to explore

Hover any rectangle to see the file or folder name and size. Click to navigate inside. The treemap responds instantly - it's like Google Maps for your hard drive.

Read-only by default

Scanning never touches your files. Nothing is moved, renamed, or deleted unless you explicitly choose to. You stay in full control at every step.

Works on any drive

Internal drives, external hard drives, SSDs, USB drives - FreeUpDisk scans them all. Select any mounted drive from the sidebar and get a full map instantly.

Find duplicates & large files

Instantly rank files by size. See duplicate downloads, forgotten video exports, bloated app caches, and node_modules that nobody thought to clean up.

When people use FreeUpDisk

The "My disk is suddenly full" panic

You try to download something and your Mac or PC says there's no space. FreeUpDisk scans in 20 seconds and shows you exactly which files caused it, usually a forgotten video export or a Slack cache that ballooned.

Developer cleanup

node_modules, .gradle, Docker images, and build caches silently accumulate gigabytes across projects. The treemap makes them immediately visible, grouped by folder.

Before selling or returning a machine

Verify there's no important data left, find old projects you might want to back up, and confirm the drive is clean before wiping it.

Regular disk hygiene

Run a scan once a month. The treemap shows you what's grown since last time. A 15-minute cleanup keeps your drive from reaching critical levels.

Windows and Mac

Most disk analyzers work on Windows only. FreeUpDisk is built natively for both Windows 10/11 and macOS - same experience, same treemap, same speed, on every machine you use.
